At this year’s DBS Summit in Würzburg, the future
of deep brain stimulation (DBS) was the focus. Experts from neurology, psychiatry, and medical technology came together to discuss the latest developments and innovative therapeutic approaches – particularly for patients with tremor, such as those with Parkinson’s disease, as well as patients with depression.
SOMNOmedics took the opportunity to present two innovative approaches that open new perspectives for diagnostics and therapy:
Precise Tremor Analysis with the SOMNOwatch eco
With the SOMNOwatch eco, tremor patients can be objectively measured and analyzed. This allows not only for accurate diagnosis but also reliable monitoring of therapy progress, enabling individualized, data-driven treatment planning.
Selective REM Sleep Deprivation as a Non-Invasive Alternative for Depression
Presented as a promising non-invasive alternative to DBS therapy, selective REM sleep deprivation offers new possibilities for patients for whom invasive procedures are not an option or who are seeking complementary therapy options.
The DBS Summit clearly demonstrated that the future of neurological and psychiatric therapies lies in combining technological precision, data-driven analysis, and individualized, minimally invasive approaches.
SOMNOmedics greatly appreciated the interdisciplinary exchange and the engaging discussions during the event and looks forward to actively shaping the development of modern diagnostic and therapeutic concepts.
