Using our patented PTT (Pulse Transit Time) Algorithm we are able to offer long-term blood pressure monitoring without a cuff.

SOMNOmedics uses an innovative patented algorithm to measure blood pressure using pulse transit time (PTT). It works with ALL SOMNOmedics products. We calculate a patient’s blood pressure by measuring the time it takes the pulse to go from the heart to the fingertip (PTT). Taking a one point calibration at the beginning of the sleep study allows us to `set` the software’s algorithm – and measure blood pressure continuously throughout the night.

Because every single pulse wave is detected, a continuous “Beat-to-Beat”- recording and analysis is possible. Avoiding artefacts and the drawbacks of cuff based blood pressure machines.
