Actigraphy is mainly used to estimate the sleep-wake cycle. It is widely used as an aid in the diagnosis of insomnia, parasomnia, circadian rhythm disorders, and sleep-related movement disorders.
In addition to the patient’s movement, other signals can be recorded with an additional sensor. For example, an EEG or ECG can be written or the patient’s temperature or breathing can be monitored. This improves the possibilities for exact diagosis positioning.
